Infection Control, Forest Hills, NY, Bellerose NY
Infection control procedures and universal precaitions in the health care setting protect both the patients and the dental team. At Hillside Family Dental Care we encourage patients to discuss their infection control concerns with Dr. Levine and her staff.
Our office follows OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommendations for infection control and universal precautions. These procedures include: (1) Sterilization of dental instruments between patients (2) Use of disposable materials (3) Chemical decontamination of all surfaces in the examining room (4) Use of protective garb such as gloves, masks and eyewear (5) Use of disinfectant hand soap.
We use an autoclave to sterilize our dental instruments. This means our equipment is sterilized by a machine that uses steam, heat and pressure to kill bacteria and viruses. We also participate in a sterilizer monitoring program to ensure that our autoclave is working properly.
Our staff welcomes any questions you may have regarding our office procedures. Your safety and comfort about your health care is important to us.
